KEN RICHARDSON, BSW, LISAC, CADAC
Ken is an international lecturer, consultant, author, therapist and facilitator who brings over 38 years of experience to the addictions and family systems treatment field. Ken specializes in the areas of addictive/compulsive behaviors, family systems, codependence and relationship development and recovery. He has co-facilitated seminars and workshops throughout the United States and Great Britain and has designed, developed, and clinically directed various addictions treatment programs throughout the Southwest including Friendship House, Baywood Hospital, The Meadows, Calvary Addiction Recovery Center and Rainbow Retreat.
Ken co-chaired, with John Lee, the first Conference dedicated to "Men, Relationships, and Co-Dependency" held in Phoenix. The next year he continued his leadership as co-chairman of "Tough Guys/Wounded Hearts". Those conferences broke ground for all who attended, in supporting men's issues in recovery. He also presented lectures and workshops for the Las Vegas Recovery Center, the US Journal Training Conferences and The Recourse Foundation.
Ken was advisor to the National Council on Co-Dependence and previously advisor to the Phoenix Men's Center, The Merritt Center and the Recourse Foundation of Phoenix. He also served as the Chairman for the National Board of Trustees of Co-Dependents Anonymous and co-authored a codependence twelve step recovery book. Ken and his wife, Mary, founded and administrated the Orion Foundation which was established to meet the needs of Native Americans who suffer from alcoholism, drug addictions and related concerns. Out of the Orion Foundation developed The Hutoomkhum Support Program on the Hopi Reservation, which provided education, seminars, books and literature to the three Hopi mesas.
Ken is a husband, father and grandfather living in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Mary. In addition to Ken’s professional experience, he brings 41 years of personal addictions recovery to his career. Ken is currently Co-Owner of Richardson Consulting and Counseling Associates in Scottsdale, Arizona where he and his wife, Mary, maintain a limited private practice providing treatment to individuals, couples, families and groups in the areas of addictions, alcoholism, codependence, relationship recovery and other obsessive-compulsive dependent behaviors. In addition, he and Mary, continue to provide services in the areas of consulting, education, workshops, seminars, treatment design and development.
